Wishful Thinking

My name is Michael Sova and I’ve written a book. I’ll have to admit, it feels pretty good to finally be able to say that. The manuscript, approximately 200,000 words in length, is currently titled Redemption. I’ll happily change that if an agent, publisher or editor tells me my title stinks. Here’s a very brief summary of the book.

Cash Douglas is a journeyman race car driver and a bit of a black sheep. He’s made a career switching from car to car and track to track, always following the big money, and stepping on a lot of toes in the process. He receives a surprise offer to sign on with RaceTech, a new supermodified race team. Frank McKinnel, the RaceTech owner, is after publicity and he knows just how to get it. Cash Douglas is front page news. But not everyone is thrilled with RaceTech’s new driver. Broken windows, slashed tires and cryptic warning messages soon lead to sabotage and attempted murder. The only person with a clear motive is the one who gave Cash the job in the first place.

There’s a lot more to it but I don’t want to spoil the surprise. If you’d like, visit michaelsova.com to download free excerpts from the book. I may post more excerpts at a later date.

My hope, my goal, my dream is that a blurb similar to the one written above will someday appear on an actual dust jacket, or the e-equivalent. I first need to find an agent, and then a publisher willing to take a chance on me. I’m asking for your help. Please, please, PLEASE share this blog, my Turn the Page book review blog, and my website with your friends, your family, your co-workers, your bowling league, your brew club, your coffee clutch, your knitting group, your hairdresser, your massage therapist, that guy who shows up a few times a year to read your meter, and anyone else you might encounter. I need to establish a presence in the literary marketplace. The more people familiar with my name and my work, the easier that will be to accomplish. Oh, and if you happen to know any agents or publishers, feel free to put in a good word for me.
